Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. This began as a simple photo of the top of a mushroom. Photo manipulation made the magic happen, resulting in what looks like a journey to the center of an unknown place.
The window into the beyond is wreathed in what looks like tangled roots. It wasn't a psychedelic mushroom, but it sure is trippy now!
